6 Best Cafes in Camden

The Coffee Jar

While searching for the best coffee in Camden, there’s a good chance that you’ll come across The Coffee Jar. As a matter of fact, this Camden coffee shop is so popular that you’ll often find a line running out the door!

The main reason for The Coffee Jar’s popularity is, well, the coffee. You can order a superb latte, cappuccino, americano, flat white, or just about any coffee drink of your choice.

And you’ll even get some lovely leafy artwork on your steaming cup of caffeine. And while the coffee is the primary highlight, the pastries at The Coffee Jar are divine as well.

As a matter of fact, the owner of this Camden Town café was actually a baker before she started The Coffee Jar. So don’t forget to grab a slice of banana bread, a chocolate brownie, or even a savory cheddar muffin on your way out!

The Little One

The Little One is definitely appropriately named, as this tiny café in Camden doesn’t have much space. But what it lacks in square footage, it makes up for in tasty cups of coffee and delicious pastries. Just remember to take your order to go!

While some coffee shops come up with a signature blend and stick with it, The Little One likes to change things up. As a matter of fact, the espresso blend changes every three months!

While there, you can order any of your favorite coffee drinks. And don’t forget to pair your drink with one of their scrumptious crepes!

The Fields Beneath

The Fields Beneath is arguably the best vegan café in Camden. As a matter of fact, with all of the steaming cups of coffee and fantastic food options, you may forget that this coffee shop is actually vegan.

After all, one of the main goals of the owners of The Fields Beneath is to make veganism normal – and they’ve certainly succeeded.

While at The Fields Beneath, you can order lattes, cappuccinos, and macchiatos – all with vegan milk alternatives, of course (oat milk is the most popular).

But you can also get a solid cup of tea or hot chocolate, if one of those is your preferred warm drink of choice.

As for all of the vegan food options, you certainly have to try the mind-blowing vegan croissants. You can also try the B.E.S.T. bagel, the apple crumble cake, or one of the flavourful wraps.

They also have loads of lovely plants inside that make the interior very Instagrammable!

Camden Coffee House

Camden Coffee House definitely deserves its spot on this list of the best cafes in Camden. While once upon a time, there was only one Camden Coffee House location, the company has now expanded into Notting Hill, Balham, and Croydon.

That said, visiting the original location of Camden Coffee House is quite a treat. With dark hardwood floors, bright pops of red, and even a small outdoor seating area, this café is the perfect blend between professional and inviting.

Then, of course, there’s the high-quality coffee. This Camden coffee shop has a rule: all of the coffee must be served within five days of the beans being roasted. In other words, you know that you’ll get the freshest coffee possible at Camden Coffee House.

Doppio Coffee Warehouse

With a quirky interior, a wide array of coffee appliances, and fantastic coffee, Doppio Coffee Warehouse is certainly one of the best coffee shops in Camden.

When you first walk into Doppio Coffee Warehouse, you’ll notice the rustic wood coffee bar, the funky mismatched chairs, and the exposed brick wall. And then, the shelves lined with all of the coffee gear you could ever imagine will catch your eye.

Whether you’re looking for a new coffee machine, some sweet coffee syrups, or just a bag of beans, Doppio Coffee Warehouse has what you’re looking for.

As for the coffee served at this Camden Town coffee shop, lattes, cappuccinos, flat whites, macchiatos, and more are all made to order. And don’t forget to get a jam biscuit on the side!

Pamban Chai & Coffee House

Pamban Chai & Coffee House may be one of the coolest cafes in Camden Town, thanks to its unique twist. Situated in Camden Market, this café blends the two most popular caffeine fixes – coffee and tea – together.

Just to be clear, you can get coffee or tea separately at Pamban Chai & Coffee. If you’re hoping for some coffee, you can get a classic cappuccino, an extra powerful double espresso, or the intriguing charcoal latte.

And if you’re hoping for some chai tea, the original house masala is by far the most popular.

All of that said, it’s the drinks that blend the two caffeine sources, like the red cappuccino with rooibos or the matcha latte, that make this one of the best cafes in Camden.

If you’re looking for a tasty London brunch, Pamban Chai & Coffee House also serves some brunch classics like avocado toast, waffles and breakfast burgers, but all with a special twist!

I lived in Camden for three years when I first moved to London, and loved exploring the food and coffee scene in the area. Camden is one of the best areas to stay in London, especially for young travellers.
